How to store avocadoes

Generally

If avocados are unripe, store them on the counter at room temperature until they soften. Once ripe, they can be placed loose in the refrigerator to slow further ripening and extend freshness. If the avocado is cut, store the pieces in an airtight container. To help prevent browning, lightly brush the exposed flesh with lime or lemon juice before sealing. This helps preserve color and flavor for a day or two.
