How to store ginger

Generally

Store ginger in a cool, dry place, either on the counter, in the fridge, or in the freezer, depending on how long you plan to store it. For short-term storage, keep ginger on the counter in a well-ventilated spot, away from direct sunlight. If you prefer to store it in the fridge, wrap the ginger in a paper towel to absorb any moisture, and place it in an airtight container or simply leave it loose in the crisper drawer. Alternatively, for long-term storage, you can freeze ginger. Freezing it is a great way to extend its shelf life. You can freeze ginger whole or minced, and simply grate or slice off what you need directly from the frozen piece when you're ready to use it.
